On March 21st, Monday the iPhone SE was launched by apple bringing back the 4-inch display screen it was famed for. A considerable amount of iPhone users were not very happy about an iPhone with a larger display when it was introduced in 2014 in the form of iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 plus, and this announcement has clearly made them very happy.
But the launch of iPhone SE has sparked rumors that iPhone 5s may have been discontinued because it has been removed from Apple's official online store.
But fear not, this is clearly not the end of the iPhone 5s which was Apple's flagship phone in 2013 and an absolute trendsetter. The popular rumor as reported by mac rumor is that the price of iPhone 5s might be slashed to half it's original price to around Rs. 12000 ~ 13000. But this is, of course, a rumor and has not been officially confirmed yet.
But the prospects of a price cut happening soon seems to be really high because E-commerce sites like amazon were selling iPhone 5s for as low as RS.16999 before a couple of weeks after the launch of iPhone SE. If other media reports are to be believed as well, then apple iPhone 5s might be the most affordable iPhone from apple. This will open the gates for iPhone gobbling up a lion's share in the smartphone market of emerging countries like Brazil and India, where people would be more willing to buy it because of the new price tag.
But let's not get our hopes high yet, this price cut has been reported to take place in the U.S., and no other countries have been mentioned in the list. Let's just hope and pray that the price cut happens and we might all be able to afford to buy an iPhone for as low as Rs. 12000 ~ 13000.
The iPhone 5s is powered by an A7 processor and M7 co-processor, paired with a 1GB RAM. It's the first iPhone to feature a fingerprint sensor integrated within the Home button. It features an 8MP iSight camera, a 4-inch Retina display, 1.2MP secondary camera and a 1560mAh battery. The handset comes in gold, silver and space grey colors and with the storage capacity of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.
On the other hand, the iPhone SE, would be available in India by the end of April, starting at Rs 39,000.
